All PV systems with an array peak power of less than 240 kWp at STC must have an Earth Fault Alarm system in compliance with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 5033. An earth fault alarm is a safety requirement that detects whenever there is a fault or short-circuits between the DC circuit(s) of a PV system and the ground (earth).
01 Follow the shutdown procedure:
- Turn off the "Solar Supply Main Switch" on the switchboard.
- Turn off the "DC PV Array Isolator" next to the inverter.
WARNING: Do not open plug and socket connectors or PV array DC isolator under no load. PV array DC isolator does not de-energise the PV array and array cabling.
02 DO NOT touch the system's panels or other conductive parts (such as metal, cables, etc.) to avoid shocks caused by leakage currents.
03 Contact AusPac Solar Pty Ltd or, if unavailable, another CEC-accredited installer. You may also call your state's electrical authority, details of which can be found on the CEC website.
